Day 3 - Paris

Yes, that night went quickly. No sooner had we gone to bed, fell asleep and then it was 5:30. For all of you who didn't think you had morning kids, they were all EARLY for breakfast. We were out the hotel door at 7:15 on our way to Versailles. For many it was the 1st train ride. We had a leisurely stroll around the beautiful gardens before our 9:15 tour with Claire.

Then time for a photo at the gates.

We had a great tour of this most opulent residence of three of France's kings. Included were the state apartments and public rooms as well as the famous Hall of Mirrors where the Treaty of Versailles was signed.

After lunch we boarded our coach for an incredible panoramic guided tour of the City of Light. The highlight was the stop at the Trocadero to view the Eiffel Tower

The tour ended at the Garnier Opera House, made famous in The Phantom of the Opera. Then SHOPPING! Parents, check your charge card receipts for charges from Tiffany's, Cartier, Zara, Versace, and Prada. After all that shopping we were ready for dinner at Bistro Victoires. Tonight we had Quiche Lorraine, roast leg of duck, pommes frites ( round fries), and a lemon tart.

Back to the hotel after a very full and fun day. We will all sleep well again with a later wake up call tomorrow.
